Primary Accreditation

NELAP Accredited

Eastex has been continuously NELAP/TNI accredited by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) since 2007. The National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) ensures our laboratory meets rigorous standards for quality systems, technical competency, and data integrity.

TCEQ requires all drinking water and wastewater data reported to the state to be performed by an accredited laboratory. Our NELAP accreditation means every result we deliver is defensible and accepted by regulatory agencies.

Drinking Water

TCEQ Drinking Water Approved

Eastex is approved by TCEQ for drinking water compliance testing. This approval covers bacteriological analysis (total coliform, E. coli), inorganic chemicals, lead and copper, nitrate/nitrite, fluoride, and other parameters required for public water system monitoring.

TCEQ DW approval is a separate credential beyond general NELAP accreditation. It verifies that our methods, equipment, and quality systems meet the specific requirements for drinking water analysis.

Federal

EPA UCMR 5 Approved

Eastex is approved by the EPA for Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5) testing. UCMR 5 requires monitoring for PFAS and other emerging contaminants in public water systems. This approval means we meet EPA's enhanced quality requirements for these nationally mandated monitoring programs.

State Certification

HUB Certified

Eastex is certified as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) and Woman-Owned Business by the State of Texas. HUB certification facilitates participation in state and federal agency procurement opportunities and can benefit clients with government-funded projects.

What This Means for You

Accreditation isn't a marketing badge. It's the difference between data that's accepted by regulators and data that isn't. When you submit results from an accredited lab:

  • Your compliance data is accepted by TCEQ without question
  • Your results are defensible in regulatory proceedings
  • Your QA/QC documentation meets federal and state standards
  • Your chain of custody procedures are verified and audited
  • Your methods are current and properly validated

Eastex maintains our accreditation through regular TCEQ audits, ongoing proficiency testing, and continuous quality system improvements. This isn't a one-time achievement. It's an ongoing commitment to the integrity of your data.
